TABLET VEAWING

This course includes weaving techniques practiced in Russia and White Russia. Tablets Weaving teaches you how to produce exquisitely patterned woven bands which can be used to form ribbons, book marks, mug rugs, pouches and closures. The equipment required is very cheap and simple, yet the range of possible patterns is immense. The tablets used in weaving are typically shaped as squars with holes near each vertex.
These course are suitable for everyone including children. Learning tablet weaving is a great way to understand the weaving process and can easily be continued at home. Children are particularly quick to pick up this technique.

REED WEAVING

A weaving reed resembles a comb. It consists of a frame with lots of vertical slits. The quality of the reed woven bands are similar to the quality of the tablet woven bands. Reed weaving requires less effort than the tablet weaving and uses up less yarn. Even if the technique of a reed weaving is not so difficult, the purchase of a reed can be quite expensive. Therefor this course is suitable for those who would like first to try the reed weaving.
